Don SchoenlPresident and Chief Executive Officer
Don has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Nordic since 2000. A Buffalo NY native, Don worked with PriceWaterhouse LLP until 1995, when he accepted a financial and operations leadership role with a client in the frozen entree business. In 1998 Don joined the Nordic team as Chief Financial Officer. Don is an active industry executive and served as Chairman of the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) in 2008.Don is a graduate of the University of Buffalo, where he also earned his MBA.
David ApseloffChief Financial Officer
Mr. Apseloff, a CPA, has over 20 years experience as a CFO in private and public companies. His experience spans distribution, global manufacturing, healthcare as well as leveraged buyouts and IPO’s. He began his career with Arthur Anderson & Co. Mr. Apseloff oversees all of the company’s financial, HR, and IT functions. A graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. Apseloff joined Nordic Cold in 2012.
Gary HoltSenior Vice-President of Distribution
Gary Holt served 24 Years in the United States Marine Corps completing 7 Years of active duty and 17 years in the Active Reserves. His Civilian Work History prior to Nordic Cold includes Alaska Airlines Logistics Center (Supervisor), Caldor Distribution Center (Supervisor), DSC Logistics (Inventory Control Manager), Cumberland Distribution Services (Facility Manager), Genco Reverse Logistics Center (General Manager). In September 1999, he started as the General Manager over the Nordic Cold Pleasantdale Road Facility. In November 2004, he was promoted to Regional Manager responsible for Pleasantdale Road Facility and the Empire Road Facility. In December 2007, he was promoted to Regional Director of Operations responsible for all Nordic facilities in Georgia. In July 2011, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
Darrell McKinnonChief Engineering Officer
Mr. McKinnon joined Nordic in March of 2002 as the regional Director of Engineering with refrigeration and major project responsibilities over the four ammonia facilities. Later in 2002, responsibilities were added to include the forklift shops, all MHE, and all facilities refrigeration and maintenance outside of the Georgia region. Major projects completed since 2002 include: the addition of four blast cells – one in Hattiesburg, one in Forest, one in Goldsboro, and one in Charlotte; major roof replacements on almost every building; electrical service replacements for both engine rooms at Pleasantdale Road, implemented a CMMS system – Manager Plus+; several re-rack projects, and a 60,000 sq ft freezer addition on Rockmart in 2009. Current projects include a new build in Savannah as well as reviewing possible acquisitions.
